The Remission Film Festival is the only festival of its kind focusing on creators who have been impacted by cancer either first hand, or have been touched by it in some way.
Premiering in 2026 as a fundraiser for Blood Cancer United Visionaries of the Year, RFF continues as an annual festival and fundraiser for cancer organizations.
In 2027, RFF will be raising money for The American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge - a free hotel-like facility for those receiving cancer treatment.
Edward Miskie, the cancer survivor behind the festival, is a 14 year rare Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma survivor, and author of the book 'Cancer, Musical Theatre, & Other Chronic Illnesses. Over the last 14 years, Edward has been a vocal advocate for cancer survivors in their journey out of the hospital and back into 'normal' life - whatever that means.
